Sergeant Stubby in the Great War

Stubby was a stray mutt living on a training base in New Haven, CT during WWI. He quickly won over the heart of his owner, Corporal J. Robert Conroy, who decided to smuggle the dog overseas to Paris. There, he proved himself to be a loveable companion and invaluable asset to his platoon. Stubby learned to detect mustard gas and other dangers long before his human companions, saving them many times over. After capturing a German spy, Stubby became the first dog to receive decorations, and ended up ranking higher than his human counterpart.
